Job summary

About the Employer

I am a parent looking for a supportive and reliable personal assistant to assist me in caring for my son, as well as support for myself. My son is calm, happy non‑verbal, uses a wheelchair and has severe learning disabilities. The role is supporting daily routines and helping our home run smoothly. About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
  • Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
  • Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
  • Support with food shopping.
  • Develop a good and trusting one‑to‑one working relationship.
  • Help with son

Only candidates aged 18 or over should apply for this position as you will be required to administer medication.

The individual's needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and/or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).

Transport Requirement

Car driver and car owner – must have business insurance.

Required Training
  • Moving and Handling. Training will be provided by the employer.
  • First Aid. PA must already hold relevant qualification.

  • Monday, 15:30 to 17:30 & 19:00 to 20:00
  • Tuesday, 06:30 to 08:30, 15:30 to 17:30 & 19:00 to 20:00
  • Wednesday, 06.30 to 08.30 15.30 to 17.30 & 19.00 to 20.15
  • Thursday, 06.30 to 08.30 15.30 to 17.30 & 19.00 to 20.15
  • Friday, 06.30 to 08.30
