Role

We are recruiting a Casual Female Care / Support worker to join our team of Personal Assistants supporting one client in the Nelson area. The role will be varied, but you will support a client with a spinal injury to lead an independent lifestyle in their own home and the community. You will need to be comfortable around smokers and pets, especially dogs. Due to location it is advisable to be able to drive to work. The hours: Casual Contract. Days of the week will be variable but are planned in advance. Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness as overtime when needed is required.

Training & Training Delivery

All training is provided and will consist of e-learning courses, face-to-face sessions, practical training, clinical training and competencies. The training is bespoke to the client and fully comprehensive for meeting their needs. We also provide refresher training on a regular basis, to keep your knowledge and skills current.

Who we are looking for

You must be self motivated, well organised, chatty, reliable and an excellent team player. As well as being a naturally caring and compassionate person, we’re seeking Care / Support workers with:

  • Giving emotional support to a person that was very active
  • Supporting with personal care
  • Administration of medication
  • Providing companionship
  • Household cleaning as part of the day to day routine
  • Working well in the team of current PAs
  • Prior experience in critical care is preferred but training will be given

You should also have:
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness.

  • The role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
  • You must have eligibility to work in the UK. We are unable to offer sponsorship.
