Job description
Overview

As a Fellow in Medical Education at Maudsley Learning, you will join a multi‑professional team in a high‑performing, fast‑paced yet supportive environment. The role is a fixed‑term, 12‑month full‑time post designed for a Specialty Trainee (Year 4‑5) in psychiatry to undertake as an Out‑of‑Programme Experience (OOPE).

You will contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of mental‑health simulation‑based education (SBE) and other training courses, ensuring high‑quality design, development and delivery. This position offers the chance to innovate in clinical education, support workplace practice and gain an unrivalled educational experience.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and deliver a series of simulation‑based education and other mental health training programmes and courses in collaboration with stakeholders, including commissioners.
  • Evaluate the impact of courses and training programmes delivered, presenting results at relevant conferences and submitting for publication.
  • Contribute to writing bids and reports for completed training projects.
  • Participate in the development of the simulation team, attending relevant meetings and events.
  • Support the project management of courses and programmes.
  • Work with the Simulation Clinical Lead and other modality leads to develop business plans for new education and training programmes and bids.
  • Act as the first line of contact, providing clear verbal and written information to agencies interested in mental‑health and physical‑health simulation scenarios.
  • Collaborate with the Simulation Clinical Lead, research & development team, head of sales and head of operations to set up and maintain programme controls, timelines and deliverables.
  • Attend weekly team meetings to support the review of project deliverables and monitoring.
  • Engage with stakeholders, promoting diversity, equality and inclusion, and ensuring respectful and supportive communication.
