Qualifications

Job Description
The Company

A dynamic consultancy looking for a skilled and driven Naval Architect to join their growing team. This position is ideal for someone with proven industry experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using ANSYS or Strand7, who is also motivated to broaden their capabilities by learning and applying OrcaFlex for advanced offshore and marine engineering projects.

The Role
  • Perform structural analysis and design of marine and offshore structures using FEA software such as ANSYS or Strand7.
  • Develop, run, and interpret FEA models to ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and client specifications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on concept development, detailed design, and verification tasks.
  • Support dynamic analysis of offshore structures and subsea systems using OrcaFlex (training and mentoring provided if required).
  • Prepare clear technical reports, calculations, and design documentation.
  • Participate in client meetings and design reviews as needed.
  • Stay up to date with industry standards, classification society rules, and technological advancements.
The Person
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Naval Architecture, Ship Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven industry experience performing FEA using ANSYS and / or Strand7.
  • Solid understanding of structural mechanics and fluid mechanics, and offshore / marine structural design principles.
  • Enthusiasm to learn and apply OrcaFlex for dynamic analysis of offshore systems.
Desirable
  • Masters degree in Naval Architecture, Ship Science, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience using OrcaFlex is advantageous but not essential.
  • Familiarity with offshore installation analysis, mooring design, or riser analysis.
  • Experience liaising with classification societies or regulatory bodies.
