Job description

The family farming partnership of R J Kirkwood and Son is a 1300‑acre arable operation, based at Dunnington, Driffield, East Yorkshire. The business is run alongside Manor Farm Feeds Limited, a compound feed milling business, at the same location.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of arable cropping, from establishment to harvest
  • Manage farm team
  • Manage farm health and safety
  • Ensure compliance with relevant schemes and keep all documentation current
  • Maintain machinery and record usage accordingly
  • Maximise farm efficiency
  • Liaise with site management
  • Help maintain farm management software system
Qualifications

You will have a proven record of arable farming and demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills. The suitable candidate will take a proactive approach to farm management and will demonstrate an ability to meet deadlines, ensuring crop applications are planned and applied in a timely manner. A PA1 / PA2 and Telehandler certificate are essential for this role. Previous experience using GPS and a farm management system such as Omnia would be advantageous but not essential.
