Band E SCP 18 - 25 (£31,537 - £36,363 per annum) dependent upon experience

Are you passionate about helping children return to their families and achieve the best possible outcomes? We have an exciting secondment opportunity for a Family Support Worker to join our new Kinship and Reunification Hub.

This role plays a vital part in supporting children and birth families through reunification, ensuring stability and positive futures.

This role offers the chance to develop specialist skills in family support and reunification, work closely with social workers, and contribute to innovative practice within our Children We Care For Service.

The post holder will be responsible for
  • Working directly with birth parents and children to support successful timely reunification.
  • Empowering parents by building their skills and confidence in parenting.
  • Coordinating timely referrals to specialist services.
  • Support children and young people through care transitions.
  • Champion the voices of vulnerable children and families.
You will need to have
  • NVQ Level 3 or evidence of previous similar study.
  • Experience of direct work with children or adults.
  • Basic knowledge of child development.
  • A driving license.
  • Ability to work flexibly and outside core working hours, including weekends and early evenings when families are together.
  • Excellent communication skills both face to face and over the telephone.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Good team player, self‑motivating, reflective and able to use own initiative.
  • Able to remain focused despite oppositional challenges from families.
