FAMILY SOLICITOR - 3+PQE - NEWCASTLE

A Family Solicitor with 3-6 years' PQE is required to join a leading Family Team in Newcastle, which is Chambers and Legal 500 ranked year on year. The team is regularly involved in complex and interesting private law family matters. This role will involve managing a varied caseload of privately funded family work.

Examples of work include:

• Divorce and dissolution
• High-value Financial Remedy cases
• Complex Children Act proceedings
• Schedule 1 proceedings
• Nuptial agreements
• LGBT+ family law
• Surrogacy
• Abduction
• TOLATA cases
• Arbitration

Key duties will include:

• Client contact, including building trust and rapport, managing expectations and delivering high-quality outcomes
• Working closely with senior members of the team
• Providing clear and practical legal advice
• Drafting applications and other core documentation
• Advocacy
• Business development activities

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience running their own private family law caseload. As the team regularly handles complex matters, experience in high-value financial cases and children law work would be advantageous. You will be highly organised, able to multitask, and comfortable working independently as well as within a busy and diverse team.

Excellent IT skills and attention to detail are essential. You will have a methodical approach to your work, strong verbal and written communication skills, and proven advocacy experience.
