Associate Solicitor - Family Law

Location: Newport

We're looking for an experienced Associate Solicitor to join our clients busy and respected Family Department. You'll manage your own caseload, support junior team members, and play an active role in developing the department and firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a varied family law caseload and support Partners when required
  • Supervise and mentor fee‑earners and support staff
  • Drive business development and attend regular networking events (1 per month)
  • Strengthen client relationships and help attract new clients
  • Contribute to management meetings and departmental initiatives
  • Uphold firm standards and promote a safe, supportive working environment
About You
  • Admitted Solicitor or Paralegal (ideally 5 years PQE in Family Law)
  • Minimum 1 year with current firm or previous Partner experience
  • Strong communication, leadership and decision‑making skills
  • Able to motivate a team and handle complex or sensitive situations
  • Confident in delegation, feedback and managing competing priorities
  • Flexible to work outside standard hours when required
