Job Description

A vacancy has arisen within Site Services for a Facility Supervisor in the Dounreay Cementation Plant (DCP). The purpose of the post is to supervise operations and maintenance.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To supervise the work within the complex, ensuring it is carried out safely and in accordance with procedures
  • Review/prepare safe system of work documentation
  • Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained in the complex
  • Participate in work scope and hazard reviews, work scheduling and interactions
  • Report and investigate abnormal conditions, unusual occurrences and failures and take appropriate action to protect personnel and the environment as defined in PRC 0001
  • Perform the responsibilities of Management Authorisations relevant to post (Permit to Work Issuer; Radiation Protection Supervisor; Lift Supervisor; Radioactive Materials coordinator; Risk Assessor; Project Supervisor; FCA Building Warden)
  • Manage staff as a line manager
Aptitudes and Experience:
  • Relevant site knowledge and experience
  • Relevant plant or industrial operation experience in a highly regulated environment
  • Able to demonstrate good organisational and planning skills
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills
  • A positive approach, self-motivated, assertive and ability to use initiative
