A leading end-of-life charity is seeking a part-time Facilities Manager for their hospice in Liverpool. The role involves ensuring a safe and well-run environment, leading housekeeping and maintenance teams, and managing Health & Safety standards. Candidates should possess extensive facilities management experience and effective leadership skills. Benefits include annual leave, competitive parental/sick leave policies, and various employee support schemes.
Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness they’re likely to die from.
The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life. Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.
We are recruiting for a Facilities Manager to join our Marie Curie Hospice in Liverpool.
Hours: 30 hours per week (spread over 5-days)
Contract: Part-time Permanent
Salary: £47,810 - £54,710 per annum (pro rata) in line with Band 7 Agenda for Change
Location: Liverpool Hospice
As a Facilities Manager at Marie Curie, you’ll play a key role in making sure our hospice is a safe, welcoming and well‑run environment for patients, families, staff and volunteers. You’ll lead our housekeeping, maintenance and support service teams, ensuring high standards are maintained every day.
You’ll be the go‑to person for Health & Safety on site, making sure our buildings, equipment and processes meet all required regulations and audit standards. From managing contractors and overseeing maintenance work to supporting business continuity plans, you’ll help keep the hospice running smoothly and safely.
This role also involves managing budgets, supporting procurement activity and contributing to future planning as part of the Senior Management Team. You’ll work closely with colleagues across operations, estates, clinical teams and external partners to deliver an excellent, patient‑centred environment.
If you’re a strong leader with extensive facilities management experience, great people skills and a passion for creating safe, high‑quality spaces, we’d love to hear from you.
