Job description
Overview

My client is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to join their team in Brackley. Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Manager you will be working alongside other Technicians supporting with the daily maintenance and repairs.


Responsibilities


  • Proactively carry out daily maintenance tasks and building fabric repairs

  • Achieve agreed standards as directed by the Facilities Maintenance Manager

  • Carry out repairs and maintenance including re-lamping, ceiling repairs, wall & door/joinery repairs, carpet and flooring repairs, tiling, plumbing, helpdesk tasks, furniture churn, meeting room layouts and general repairs and housekeeping activities

  • Uphold and contribute to workplace safety through proactive and responsive maintenance support


Ideal candidate / Qualifications


  • Have proven practical experience and a demonstrated ability to apply hands-on technical skills effectively and confidently

  • Have well-rounded general maintenance skills with a practical and creative approach to solving problems and improving work quality and efficiency. Relevant experience may include carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting and general building maintenance

  • Have a positive, can-do attitude and excellent communications skills both verbally and written

  • Demonstrate a resourceful and logical approach to work, delivering high quality results in a timely manner with a “right first time” mindset

  • Be able to work effectively in a small, multiskilled facilities team that recognises and values the strengths of others and works collaboratively to achieve the department's and organisations shared goals

  • Be proactive and self-motivated

  • Have strong I.T skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Have an understanding of risk assessment processes, being able to identify potential hazards, think critically and apply safe working practices in line with H&S guidelines

  • Confidently interact with external contractors to coordinate repairs, ensuring work is carried out efficiently and to required standards.

  • Be happy for a DBS check to be carried out


Working hours

Working hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm.
