Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Officer to manage maintenance requests, supervise staff, and ensure site safety in South West London. The ideal candidate will have experience in general maintenance tasks including plumbing and carpentry, and will be responsible for coordinating maintenance activities and assisting in emergencies. This is a 6-month contract with a pay rate of £18ph to £22ph.

Qualifications

  • Experience in general maintenance is essential.

Morgan Hunt is currently seeking Facilities Maintenance Officer for a FE College based in South West London

Pay Rate: £18ph to £22ph Ltd

Hours: 37 hrs - Mon to Fri between 8am to 6pm

Location: South West London

Duration 6 months on going contract – Temp to Perm £36,991 per annum

Main Purposes and Responsibilities

The main activities, duties and responsibilities of the post are set out below. This job description is intended to give a framework rather than to set limits. Further Education Colleges are required to respond to rapid change and a re-evaluation of duties may be called for from time to time, in consultation with the candidate.

  • Act as first point of contact for maintenance and repair requests.
  • Carry out general maintenance, including basic plumbing, carpentry, and decorating.
  • Supervise and support a small team of site services staff, allocating tasks and ensuring high standards of work.
  • Record and track jobs through the College helpdesk system.
  • Support and monitor contractors working on site, ensuring they have Permits to Work.
  • Monitor fire and security systems (training provided) and report any faults to contractor.
  • Keep tools, materials and stock organised and in good condition.
  • Conduct regular building checks to spot and report any issues.
  • Help with room setups, deliveries and other facilities tasks.
  • Assist during emergencies or incidents affecting the site.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with college health and safety policies.
