We're seeking a motivated Façade Engineer to join a respected building envelope team based in Birmingham, supporting a diverse portfolio of commercial, residential, and public‑sector projects.

About the Role

You’ll play a key role in the technical delivery of façade engineering services, contributing to design development, performance analysis, and site‑level quality assurance. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem‑solving, technical detail, and close collaboration with multidisciplinary project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development of façade designs, specifications, and performance criteria.
• Carry out engineering calculations, thermal assessments, structural checks, and material evaluations.
• Prepare technical reports, design review notes, and project documentation.
• Work with architects, contractors, and manufacturers to resolve façade‑related challenges.
• Undertake site visits and inspections to monitor workmanship and compliance.
• Assist senior engineers in delivering projects across all RIBA stages.

About You

• Degree in Façade Engineering, Structural/Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in façade design, façade consultancy, or building envelope engineering.
• Good understanding of key façade systems including curtain walling, rainscreen cladding, glazing, and specialist materials.
• Familiarity with UK building regulations, CWCT guidance, and relevant standards.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to technical detail.
• Effective communicator with an interest in collaborative team environments.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with thermal modelling or condensation risk analysis.
• Knowledge of fire performance requirements and façade testing standards.
• Competency with 3D modelling or drawing software (e.g., Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD).
