Job Overview

Recruiting personnel in the Eye, Diss and Thetford areas for welding fabrication roles at all levels based on skill sets and experience. Positions include Sheet Metal Fabricator Welders and Welder Fabs responsible for fabrication from engineering drawings and welding of angle, box, tube to high‑spec finish.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld with TIG and MIG on sheet metal 1.5–4 mm stainless or mild steel, angles, boxes, tubes.
• Work primarily in the Fab Shop, with occasional on‑site installation.
• Operate tube bending machine, press‑brake and other workshop machinery and tools.
• Adapt to semi‑skilled work when necessary based on skill set.

Qualifications & Skills

• Able to fabricate & weld mainly with TIG, with some MIG; or weld with MIG and some TIG.
• Ideally holding C&G or NVQ in Welding Fabrication or Sheet Metalwork.
• Experience using tube bending machine and press‑brake.

Location

Eye, Diss, Thetford (local area). Commute or relocation may be required.

Hours

Monday to Friday 07:00–16:00 with overtime after 40 hours. Variations may occur: 06:00–17:00 or 07:00–18:00 as required, and Saturday 06:00 or 07:00 to 13:30 as needed.

Term & Pay

Temporary 6–13 weeks with a good chance of a permanent role after a 13‑week trial.

• Permanent rate: £17–£18 per hour (PAYE) for 40 hrs basic, 1.5× overtime.
• Pay ranges: £18–£20 per hour basic depending on qualifications, skills, and experience; overtime over 40 hours £24–£27 per hour; Saturday pay via payment company.
