Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy based in Greater London is seeking a Fabrication Tech Lead / Construction Manager for Offshore Wind Jackets. The successful candidate will oversee the fabrication package, ensuring technical and commercial accuracy while collaborating closely with clients and contractors. The ideal candidate must have a degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering and experience in Jacket fabrication for offshore projects. This hybrid role offers flexibility, combining remote work and site visits.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with Fabrication yards for Offshore Wind foundations.
  • Exposure to offshore wind construction is a plus.

Fabrication of Jackets for Offshore Wind – EU

Project Manager Engineering Manager / Package Manager / Construction Manager

Opportunity for experienced engineer to play a leading role working with Offshore Wind developers.

Would suit Package Manager/ Engineering Manager / Tech Lead / Project Manager / Client Rep/ Owner Engineer / Consultant Engineer. Lead role working with developers & fabricators for OWF Foundations. Working in a team to manage technical and commercial aspects related to the Fabrication of various offshore packages for foundation projects.

Must have experience in Fabrication of Jackets.

Essential
  • Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Experienced in Fabrication of Jackets for Offshore wind.
  • Jacket Foundations.
Advantage
  • Experienced in Steel Fabrication for Offshore wind.
  • Experience working with Fabrication yards for Offshore Wind foundations eg Smulders, Bladt, H&W, BiFab, Offshore Structures Britain
  • EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Installation), Balance of Plant (BOP), Offshore Installation Contractor, energy developer, utility, or engineering consultancy in a related role for offshore construction projects, with exposure to offshore wind construction
  • Effective communicator, developing and nurturing developer and contractor relationships.
Role

Working in close relationship with clients, contractors and developers – projects are varied and include the detailed design for fabrication for Offshore wind foundations – Jackets.

  • Lead Technical clarification on bids for Jacket fabrication
  • Oversee design, specification, procurement and management of the Jacket fabrication package during the planning and development phase of the project.
  • Provide technical and commercial input to the procurement strategy for the fabrication package to identify, tender and select advisors, suppliers and contractors for the project.

Projects are carried out in close collaboration with other departments and through consultation with other specialists. Good communication, organisational & Leadership skills and are able to deal with the daily demands of working within a multidisciplinary team.

Hybrid role – wfh with some office and occasional site visits to Fabrication yards.
