Job description

Job Title: Fabricator welder

Location: Kingswinford, West Midlands

Salary: 16.00 - 17.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Overtime: Paid at 1.5x after 37 hours per week

Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:00
  • Friday: 07:30 - 12:30
About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Plater Fabricator to join our dynamic and skilled fabrication team in a modern, ISO-certified engineering facility. As part of our team, you will play a key role in producing heavy-duty steel fabrications and structural components for demanding industries such as nuclear, subsea, oil & gas, mining, scientific research, and power generation.

Key Responsibilities
  • MIG & TIG Welding: Perform welding in line with BS EN ISO (phone number removed):2017+A1:2019 Level 2 standards.
  • Certification Maintenance: Qualify and maintain certifications to BS EN ISO 9606-1:2017 welding standards.
  • Fabrication: Work with carbon and stainless-steel components ranging from 6mm to 100mm thick.
  • Structural Fabrication: Fabricate and assemble structural profiles such as beams, columns, channels, and angles.
  • Overhead Cranes: Safely operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment for handling large components.
  • Quality Compliance: Ensure all welds meet contract-specific NDT standards (DPI, MPI, UT) as required.
  • Precision Work: Contribute to a quality-driven environment, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and compliance.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proficiency in MIG & TIG welding techniques.
  • Experience with heavy fabrication and structural steel, particularly in large-scale projects.
  • Welding Certification: Must be certified or eligible for certification to BS EN ISO 9606-1:2017.
  • Heavy Equipment Handling: Comfortable using cranes, slings, and other lifting equipment.
  • Inspection Knowledge: Understanding of third‑party inspection techniques, including dye penetrant, magnetic particle, and ultrasonic testing.
  • Health & Safety Commitment: A strong focus on maintaining health and safety standards in the workplace.
