Job description
EYFS Teaching Assistant

Start date: January 2026

Milk Education is working in partnership with welcoming primary schools across the Blyth area that are seeking dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistants to join their teams from January 2026.

This is a full-time, long-term temporary role supporting children within the Early Years Foundation Stage, with a strong focus on pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The role is full-time, working Monday to Friday, 08:30am to 3:30pm.

The Role

You will work closely with the class teacher and wider support staff to help create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. The role includes providing one-to-one and small group support for SEND pupils, supporting engagement, and helping pupils make progress in line with individual learning goals.

Requirements
  • EYFS and SEND experience is desirable

  • Recent and relevant experience working with children within the past two years
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Ability to work effectively under the guidance of the class teacher
  • Reliable and punctual
