Working 36.5 hours per week

We are a Living Wage Employer, and all our roles will be paid as such where the pay scales are below the Living Wage rate.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to work for City Housing alongside care providers. For the role of an Extra Care Officer, we are seeking an enthusiastic person with good interpersonal skills and abilities that can meet our person specification to the job role.

The post holder will manage all aspects of housing including allocations, lettings, repairs, delivery of individual support and wellbeing to tenants. You will conduct face-to-face visits, in citizens homes, to improve the health and wellbeing of tenants and applicants with an aim for older people and those with disabilities to achieve their goals, to be resilient and lead happy and healthy lives in a sheltered environment. This could include work on conditions of tenancy, anti-social behaviour, debt advise, benefit advise, or activity organising and encouragement as a few examples.

Our aim is that people live independently, with support from multiple agencies as required and you will work closely with Care staff in the building to ensure service delivery of individuals package of care.

Building management and Health & Safety is also an integral part to the role and working jointly with other services to ensure these are met. You will also be involved in training to visitors and other workers within the building.

This is an office-based role, and you will be part of a supportive team that provides a service to 4 Extra Care schemes across the City so you will be required to cover Citywide for colleagues as required.
