Experienced Social Worker – Duty and Assessment Team, Nottingham. Salary: £32 ph. Contract: Full Time / Temporary.

About the team

Nottingham City is seeking an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join their fast-paced Duty & Assessment Team. This role involves progressing children’s assessments and managing a range of cases including Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Children Looked After (CLA). You will work on a structured four-week cycle – one week on duty followed by three weeks to progress allocated work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete timely and robust assessments in line with statutory requirements
  • Manage cases across CIN, CP, CLA, including taking cases to Initial Child Protection Conference (ICPC)
  • Attend and present at Looked After Child (LAC) Reviews
  • Prepare and progress court applications as required
  • Work closely with children, families, and multi-agency professionals to improve outcomes
  • Maintain accurate case notes and adhere to key performance indicators
