What you will do:

  • Undertake child and family assessments in line with the Children Act 1989/2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance, and local safeguarding procedures.
  • Analyse information to identify risk, resilience, strengths, and support needs of children and families.
  • Develop clear, outcome-focused plans that ensure the safety and welfare of children.
  • Collaborate with children, young people, families, and other professionals to implement a holistic approach.
  • Prepare detailed reports for child protection conferences, Looked After Child reviews, court proceedings, and other statutory meetings.
  • Manage a diverse and complex caseload within statutory timescales, ensuring swift and effective interventions.
  • Participate in duty systems, addressing new referrals and concerns with promptness and care.
  • Ensure all case recordings, assessments, and plans meet high standards and adhere to local authority policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the Team’s growth by sharing your expertise with colleagues and mentoring newly qualified staff.
  • Stay informed on the latest legislation, guidance, research, and best practices in children’s social care.
