Job description

  • Experienced Farm Vet at Yan Farm Health, North West of England
Experienced Farm Vet at Yan Farm Health, North West of England

Yan Farm Health is seeking the right candidate — not necessarily someone with a specific level of qualification. However, the role is likely best suited to a veterinary surgeon with 1–2 years’ post-qualification experience.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with engaged and open-minded clients, within a small, supportive team that is committed to delivering exceptional veterinary care.

In recognition of the importance of work-life balance, Yan Farm Health has transitioned its full-time vets to a four-day working week, with an equal share of the on-call rota.

Reflecting the progressive nature of its client base, the practice’s daily workload is largely pre-booked. TB testing is routine, with four-yearly parish cycles, and out-of-hours work is typically quiet.

The practice is fully equipped with everything expected of a modern veterinary facility, including:

  • Individual ultrasound scanners
  • Personal laptops
  • Access to advanced data analysis packages
  • Dynamic parlour testing equipment (Vadia)
  • Bull and Tup fertility equipment
  • In-house laboratory facilities
About Yan Farm Health

Yan Farm Health is an ambitious, independently owned, and rapidly expanding farm animal veterinary practice. As an active member of XLVets, the practice is committed to collaborative excellence and continuous improvement.

The team primarily works with progressive commercial farmers across South Cumbria, North Yorkshire, and North Lancashire. While the client base is predominantly dairy-focused, it also includes a diverse mix of beef and sheep enterprises.

Yan Farm Health aims to assign each vet a smaller number of farms, enabling them to deliver a truly comprehensive veterinary service and build strong, long-term relationships with clients.

These relationships are further supported by the practice’s deep engagement with the local community and its commitment to being a positive, supportive place to work.

The Package
  • RCVS, VDS and BCVA membership paid
  • CPD tailored to your interests with generous budget
  • Mobile phone and laptop
  • Fully equipped work vehicle
  • Competitive salary (Dependent on experience)
