Job Title: Executive Head Chef – Gastro Pub & Accommodation
Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (dependent on experience)
Job Type: Permanent

We’re recruiting an experienced and ambitious Executive Head Chef to take the lead at a high-profile gastro pub and boutique accommodation venue in the Scarborough area.
With a busy restaurant offering 80+ covers alongside boutique rooms and self-catering cottages. The restaurant serves some 600 dining covers per week and is a key destination for both locals and visitors. The menu is an eclectic mix of ‘Yorkshire Tapas’, small plates, main dishes and desserts. This is an exciting opportunity to make your mark in a thriving business with further development plans already underway.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Leading the kitchen team to deliver consistent, high-quality dishes.
  • Creating seasonal menus that showcase local produce and meet brand standards.
  • Managing kitchen budgets, GP, and cost control.
  • Overseeing stock, suppliers, and wastage to maximise efficiency.
  • Training, mentoring, and inspiring your team to perform at their best.
  • Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and compliance.
  • Playing a hands-on role in service to guarantee quality and guest satisfaction.
What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working as an Executive Head Chef (or an experienced Head Chef ready to step up) in a quality-driven gastro pub, restaurant, or hotel.
  • Strong background in team leadership, stock management, and financial control.
  • Organised and calm under pressure, with a track record in delivering consistency at volume.
  • A creative chef with a passion for local, seasonal produce.
  • Excellent communicator with proven people management skills.
  • Relevant catering qualifications, including Food Hygiene Level 3 (minimum).
