Executive Business Partner, Office of the COO

We are seeking a proactive, exceptionally capable, and detail-oriented Executive Business Partner (EBP) to provide comprehensive support to our Chief Operating Officer (COO). You will be an integral part of the Office of the COO, responsible for ensuring the COO’s time is fully optimised so they can lead effectively & show up their best within Google DeepMind & wider Google.

The Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a trusted 1:1 working relationship with the COO, their Executive Operations Partner, alongside effective relationships with the wider office
  • Expertly manage the COO's complex and dynamic schedule across multiple time zones, anticipating needs, resolving conflicts proactively, and ensure timely execution of key tasks
  • Open to travel with the COO & staff trips as needed
  • Project support & partner with OCOO on internal/external engagement
  • Gather and synthesize information, proactively connect the dots, and serve as the COO’s eyes and ears on the ground
  • The ability to anticipate and proactively resolve issues, requiring exceptional problem-solving and sound judgment.
  • Support key meetings; circulating agendas, capturing notes & actions
  • Prepare materials & comms on behalf of the COO
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships across all levels of the organisation and with external partners, fostering a culture of collaboration. Serve as a key point of contact for the COO
  • Support operational tasks and processes; suggesting ideas for continuous improvement
About You

  • You have previous experience working with c-suite leaders in global organisations
  • You are proactive, exercising good judgement and discretion, you are able to determine appropriate next steps and problem solve
  • You are highly organised with a proven track record in juggling multiple tasks, prioritising effectively and with impeccable attention to detail
  • You adapt quickly to change and thrive under pressure
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and you anticipate problems with care
  • You are a great teammate, a solid communicator and active listener and most of all passionate about supporting and enabling your Leader
  • You have excellent diary management experience and know how to make the most of every day, staying flexible when priorities shift
  • You have extensive experience in using the Google Suite and other productivity enhancing tools.
  • You act with total discretion and diplomacy, remaining calm even in stressful situations
  • You are naturally curious; you ask questions to build knowledge and in order to think multiple steps ahead - no job is too big or small for you to get stuck in
  • You expertly manage stakeholder relationships by adapting your communication style and content to align with varying audiences, needs and contexts
