The Wellcome Trust is a global charitable foundation. We improve health for everyone by funding science leading policy and advocacy campaigns and building partnerships.

We plan to spend 16bn over the next ten years funding new discoveries in life health and wellbeing and taking on three global health challenges : mental health infectious disease and climate and health.

These challenges need the bold science we support but they wont be solved by science alone.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Employee Value Proposition (EVP) & Engagement Lead to co-create and embed our new EVP that reflects our values and drives engagement. This role will help make Wellcome the best place to work and enable a culture that contributes to our mission.

Where in Wellcome will I be working

Youll be part of setting up a new People Experience team reporting to the Head of People Experience. Youll lead initiatives that elevate our employee experience and foster a culture that empowers our people to be and do their best in delivering our mission.

What will I be doing

As the EVP & Engagement Lead youll bring cutting edge insights from other organisations and industries to take the lead in shaping and embedding Wellcomes new EVP with a strong focus on belonging and impact. Youll drive unique engagement initiatives that reflect our values and brings our culture to life. Youll also manage and influence how we assess and evolve our workplace experience to ensure that our people feel connected valued and inspired to deliver on our mission for now and the future.

Key Accountabilities
  • Culture Assessment and Strategy: Manage the integrity and cadence of our employee survey and Internal Culture Audit using insights and benchmarks to shape strategies that enhance our organisational culture.
  • EVP: Collaborate with the People Team and Corporate Affairs to create and embed Wellcomes new EVP ensuring inclusion across all employee experiences striving for consistent alignment and understanding.
  • Employee Engagement Initiatives: Work with the People Experience Specialist to design and implement projects that foster an inclusive and high‑performing culture driving Wellcome to truly become THE best place to work.
  • Cross Functional Activity: Represent the People Team on cross‑functional projects and Wellcome Committees leading initiatives that instill Wellcomes beliefs, values and behaviors thereby enhancing workplace culture and employee engagement.
  • Internal Communications: Partner with Internal Communications and People Managers to ensure impactful messaging on employee experience initiatives utilising diverse communication methods with colleagues.
  • Inclusive Culture Promotion: Foster an inclusive workplace by embodying Wellcomes values and promoting practices that support and enhance diversity and inclusivity.

Minimum Criteria
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing and embedding employee engagement, EVP and employer branding initiatives including the subsequent development behaviour change and cultural transformation.
  • Extensive experience in strategic HR / Marketing management roles ideally within purpose / target driven fast paced or complex organisations.
  • Proven track record in driving cultural behavioural and organisational change to contribute to an organisations performance and strategy.
