Overview

A precision engineering manufacturer in West Byfleet is seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong CNC machining and aerospace background. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly reputable business producing complex, tight-tolerance components for leading aerospace customers.

The Role

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for analysing customer enquiries, interpreting technical drawings, and preparing accurate costings for complex machined components and assemblies. You will work closely with engineering, production, and the sales team to ensure quotations are competitive, profitable, and aligned with manufacturing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed quotations for CNC machined components and aerospace parts
  • Review engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications
  • Determine materials, machining processes, tooling, and cycle times
  • Work with internal engineering teams to validate manufacturability
  • Maintain accurate cost models and pricing structures
  • Liaise with suppliers for material and subcontract costs
  • Support customer communication regarding pricing and lead times
Requirements
  • Proven experience as an Estimator within CNC machining or precision engineering
  • Strong aerospace industry knowledge
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and GD&T
  • Understanding of CNC milling/turning processes, materials, and tooling
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management
  • Confident communicator able to liaise with customers and internal teams
