A local government authority in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking an Estimator and Surveyor to enhance the highway network. The position involves delivering projects on time and within budget while working closely with partners and residents. We are looking for an Estimator and Surveyor to deliver projects that maintain and improve our highway network. Our network of roads, footpaths, and cycleways is an essential part of everyone’s lives. It helps people access things like work, learning, essential services and leisure activities. Traffic signals are a key part of our highway network; they improve safety for all road users, including cyclists and pedestrians, and help us get around by reducing congestion.
Our Transport team is responsible for over 1,049 km of roads, 1,597 km of footpaths and cycleways and many other assets in Newcastle. While our Traffic Signals team is responsible for maintaining traffic signals 24-hours a day, every day of the year, across the North East. This includes:
