Job summary

A leading supplier in steel fabrication located in Motherwell is seeking an experienced Estimator. The successful candidate will create tender estimates, monitor construction programmes, and develop client relationships. The position requires a minimum of 3 years' experience in a related industry and proficiency in Excel and Word. Estimator Position - Motherwell

Our client, a leading supplier of fabricated steel bridges, steel composite bridges, and specialist steel refurbishment contractors based in Motherwell, is seeking an experienced Estimator. The successful candidate will work on a variety of packages, including on-site strengthening works, specialist installation, and heavy fabrication of railway, road, and footbridges.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar industry (Civil Engineering, Rail, Highways, Steel preferred)
• Proficiency with Excel and Word spreadsheets
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and develop tender proposals

Responsibilities:

• Deliver programmes and monitor upcoming works
• Create tender estimates based on construction methods, outputs, programmes, and resources
• Prepare analytical tenders from Bills of Quantities, drawings, and specifications
• Develop relationships with clients and suppliers
• Attend handover meetings and support project teams, liaising with production
• Experience in pricing steel bridge structures, bridge replacements, and on-site repair schemes is advantageous but not essential
• Willingness to attend sites for knowledge and understanding
