Estimator – Commercial

Reports to: Estimating Manager/Commercial Manager

Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Estimator with a strong background in aluminium glazing systems within new‑build residential and commercial markets. You will look after all aspects of the estimating process for commercial glazing projects, ensuring timely, accurate and competitive submissions. The successful candidate will collaborate with the commercial team, clients and supply chain to price projects and contribute to securing contracts that align with company goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, specifications and drawings to understand project requirements.
• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for glazing and façade projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Price projects and prepare and review estimations; provide cost breakdowns and technical submissions to support bids.
• Use software tools such as Logikal and others to develop pricing documents.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and provide value‑engineering options to clients without compromising project integrity or safety.
• Liaise with architects, contractors and suppliers to gather necessary information and ensure smooth bid preparation.
• Maintain open communication with clients during post‑tender phases, providing updates and feedback to secure projects.
• Assist junior estimators with quantity take‑offs, measures and technical guidance.
• Review and refine team submissions to ensure consistency and quality.
• Support the project start‑up phase by assisting with requisitions, supplier negotiations and order planning as needed.
• Maintain detailed records of sales activity and provide progress updates to senior management.
