Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust requires a highly motivated, reliable and flexible Estates Officer (CAD & Digital), supporting the Trust's compliance with the NHS Golden Thread and Building Safety Act. This is a key role within the Estates team, responsible for managing and developing our digital estate information to ensure the safety, efficiency, and compliance of our buildings. The postholder will oversee the creation, maintenance, and integration of CAD drawings and BIM models, ensuring accurate building data is available to support decision-making, maintenance, and project delivery. Working closely with Estates, Capital Projects and Redevelopment teams, you will play a crucial part in improving building safety standards and driving digital innovation across the estate.
The post holder will have extensive knowledge of infrastructure services and suitable experience of working within a challenging environment and will have a full understanding of current legislation, and be responsible for ensuring compliance with Trust Policies, procedures.
The post holder will also have HNC/HND qualification in Engineering or Building Services Engineering, and will have significant experience in managing CAD and/or BIM systems within a large, complex estate (preferably healthcare, education, or public sector).
Manage and maintain the Trust's CAD and BIM systems, ensuring accurate and up-to-date digital records for all estate assets.
Lead a team of Technicians, Administrators, and Contractors to deliver statutory, mandatory, and reactive maintenance in line with key performance targets.
Support the Capital Project Team in the delivery of minor projects, upgrades, and new developments.
Ensure compliance with building safety standards and regulations, including the NHS Golden Thread and Building Safety Act.
Oversee the preparation of technical specifications, tender documents, and contract management.
Identify and manage forward maintenance planning, including obsolete equipment or systems that no longer meet current standards.
Assist with energy-saving projects and sustainability initiatives across the estate.
Provide support to senior management in risk management, feasibility studies, and the development of business continuity plans.
