Job description
Estates Maintenance Technician

Main duties of the job

The candidate will ideally be qualified to HNC/HND level in Engineering and have experience of working at a maintenance technician level, electrically biased. Duties will include servicing, testing, verifying, diagnostics, repair and calibration of technically advanced electrical and electronic installations, mechanical systems, plumbing services, engineering plant and equipment, BMS and steriliser/decontamination equipment. The role also requires some statutory testing of decontamination plant and equipment (no experience necessary as training will be provided). It is essential that you are an effective team worker, with the ability to provide support to other tradesmen within the Estates Department. You will be stationed at County Hospital working 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm) but must be flexible when required. You may be required to work at other sites belonging to or serviced by the UHNM and take part in an on-call system. The salary includes an initial £1,500 recruitment and retention payment for the first 12 months, rising to 8% thereafter.
