Job description
Overview

As maintenance specialist, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of building maintenance, engineering infrastructure, systems and equipment. This will include the guidance and support to Estates operatives to ensure compliance with legislation, local policy and best practice. The postholder will also be responsible for managing the upkeep of the Estates Grounds and Gardens. The post holder will be accountable to the Head of Estates Operations, for areas of responsibility including Lifting Equipment Regulations, Low Voltage Electrical Safety, Medical Gases, Critical Ventilation, Legionella and Water Systems, assuming the responsibilities of the authorised person's roles.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the reliability of building maintenance, engineering infrastructure, systems and equipment; provide guidance and support to Estates operatives to ensure compliance with legislation, local policy and best practice.
  • Manage the upkeep of the Estates Grounds and Gardens.
  • Be accountable to the Head of Estates Operations for areas including Lifting Equipment Regulations, Low Voltage Electrical Safety, Medical Gases, Critical Ventilation, Legionella and Water Systems; assume the responsibilities of the authorised person\'s roles.
  • Balance planned maintenance activities with the responsive repairs service.
  • Deputise for the Estates Engineering Manager.
