Job description

As an Estates Cleaning Operative, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a comprehensive, efficient, and proactive cleaning service across Freebridge Community Housing estates throughout the borough. Your role will include conducting health and safety checks, collaborating with tenancy colleagues to contribute information on tenancy breaches, and assisting in combating anti‑social behaviour (ASB). Freebridge was set up in 2006, to receive the transfer of the Borough Council of Kings Lynn and West Norfolk's housing stock. What you'll be doing
  • Provide quality cleaning throughout communal areas on Freebridge Community Housing estates, including the safe handling and cleaning of biohazard materials.
  • Record all activities and conduct pre and post work inspections.
  • Ensure communal areas are clear of hazards like fly‑tipping, pushchairs, and bicycles.
  • Identify and report abandoned properties.
  • Liaise with the Assistant Place Shaping Manager for any schedule changes.
  • Report necessary repairs in communal areas or tenant properties.
  • Ensure door entry systems are operational and report faults promptly.
  • Report and record any ASB incidents and support tenancy colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies.
  • Undertake ad‑hoc tasks as needed.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Minimum of 3 GCSE passes or equivalent (including Math and English).
  • An understanding of the needs of social housing customers and a commitment to providing a professional service.
  • The ability to deal effectively & non‑prejudicially with a range of customers, as well as to communicate clearly with colleagues at all levels.
  • Must be capable of performing tasks that involve heavy lifting.
  • A full driving licence.
Desirable
  • Experience of industrial cleaning methods and processes.
  • PA1 & PA6 licence.
Skills
