ESOL Tutor

Location: Maidstone

Start Date: ASAP

Academics are currently recruiting an ESOL Tutor to support learners in Maidstone, working within a Prison Setting working for Adults who require English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) support.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and patient tutor who is passionate about helping learners develop confidence, communication skills, and access to education with a prison settting.

The Role:
  • Delivering 1:1 and small group ESOL sessions
  • Supporting learners with speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
  • Planning engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to learners’ language levels
  • Supporting learners’ integration, confidence, and progression
  • Tracking progress and maintaining accurate session records
  • Working closely with provision staff and support teams
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience teaching or tutoring ESOL / EAL learners
  • Strong understanding of language acquisition and differentiation
  • Patient, supportive, and adaptable teaching approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Teaching qualification or ESOL-related certification is desirable but not essential
