Overview

RoleOverview: To design, implement, and optimise manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
  • Yourojectives and responsibilities will focus on: Provide technical support to production areas, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and manage engineering projects, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to support capital investments and ESMU Future Factory programme.
  • Operational tasks including risk assessments, relevant investigations and conducting risk assessments.
  • Lead and participate in projects and continuous improvement activities to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes.
  • Implement advanced manufacturing solutions that ensure capability and capacity to meet current and future demand (ESMU Future Factory).
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma and Agile methodologies to all activities, driving cost efficiency and operational excellence.
  • Oversee the introduction of new equipment and processes from concept through to production handover.
  • Deliver planned performance levels in accordance with agreed departmental key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Active involvement to resolve internal and external issues to ensure quality, compliant product is delivered in line with customer service metrics.
  • Actively engage with business and departmental continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to company policies.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience in Lean, Six Sigma and Agile manufacturing techniques
  • Experience in manufacturing processes.
  • Familiar with industry welding techniques.
  • An understanding of project management
  • Recognised engineering qualification or Apprenticeship e.g. HNC/HND/BEng or equivalent.
  • A general knowledge of the steam product ranges and heat exchanger-based system design experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - able to build constructive and positive relationships across the business at all levels.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Personal resilience, ability to perform whilst under pressure - work to deadlines and managing conflicting priorities.
