About Our Client

A fast growing organisation within the packaging and non food manufacturing sector is seeking a Technical & Sustainability Manager to support the integration of ESG and technical standards across its UK operations.

This role ensures products, packaging, supplier practices, and internal processes consistently meet high standards of Safety, Quality, Legality, and Sustainability.

The client is open to considering junior applicants who have around 2 years of experience in a related field (e.g., packaging, quality, sustainability, supply chain, compliance).

Job Description

Sustainability & ESG

  • Monitor ESG regulations, risks, and market trends.
  • Support internal ESG committees and communication.
  • Assist with ESG gap analyses and improvement plans.
  • Support the company's Net Zero Roadmap and Internal Carbon Pricing initiatives.
  • Support SBTi alignment activities.
  • Contribute to Double Materiality Assessments.
  • Help manage ESG performance across Environment, Social, and Governance areas.
  • Assist in running the Environmental Performance Assessment Program (EPAP).
  • Support data collection for ESG platforms and sustainability reporting.
  • Help deliver ESG training and cultural integration.
  • Contribute to planning and hosting the annual ESG Symposium.
Technical & Supply Chain Support
  • Assist with supplier approval, monitoring, and development.
  • Help conduct supplier and product risk assessments or audits.
  • Support the management of product recalls and withdrawals.
  • Work with suppliers on product, packaging, quality, or sustainability challenges.
  • Contribute to research into alternative sustainable materials and packaging formats.
  • Support closed loop recovery and recycling initiatives.
  • Help gather supplier compliance data for EU requirements.
  • Liaise with enforcement bodies and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Monitor complaints to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Work alongside Procurement and Quality teams.
Collaboration & Development
  • Support stakeholder engagement across the business.
  • Help coordinate ESG and technical working groups.
  • Gain coaching and development opportunities to build ESG and technical expertise.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in sustainability, quality, and operational efficiency.
