An equine services provider in Gloucester is seeking an Equine Yard Technician to support their Equine Department. The role includes daily horse care and management, promoting high standards of welfare, and assisting with International Equine Events. You will support the Equine Department in providing an outstanding and safe experience for students, commercial users and ensure a high standard of horse welfare. The role supports the Equine Team in the day‑to‑day running of the Equine unit. You are required to undertake daily horse care and management duties promoting high standards of welfare and care whilst acting as an exemplar to students. You will also be part of our team hosting and assisting with the running of International Equine Events and commercial bookings throughout the year.
You will stay in shared accommodation comprising of a single occupancy double bedroom within a shared recently refurbished farmhouse situated on‑site. Facilities include a large communal living room, kitchen and garden with parking. A pre‑paid meal card is provided for use at food outlets around the campus.
You will be a team player who has high standards of horse care and the enthusiasm and drive to motivate students and maintain our professional standards. You will be provided with the opportunity to train and develop your skills for industry relevant qualifications. Ideally you will hold BHS qualifications or equivalent. It would be beneficial to have experience in a large equine yard setting.
