A charity focused on equine therapy in Netherton is offering an apprenticeship that allows you to support mental health through equine assisted therapy. The role includes learning natural horsemanship and caring for horses through grooming and lunging. Applicants should be ready for outdoor physical work; no prior experience is needed. Training will be provided on-site, and there's potential for further qualifications. This 12-month role is ideal for those interested in a career with horses.
They are a horse and pony welfare charity with a strong ethos in the natural horsemanship approach. This apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to work in an equine assisted therapy shape working to support peoples mental health and troubled past. They are happy to accept a L2 or L3 Equine apprentice at this location. The apprenticeship is practical and therefore, not loads of time spent in a classroom. If you did not gain your GCSE's at school we can support you with this whilst on programme.
There is no accommodation on site and no availability for own horse. In order to apply for this role you have to have been in the UK for 3 years or more. The interview will take place at the location for a practical day. They work on a 5 day rota for working hours which will be discussed.
All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach.
Previous apprentices have gone on to work in full time employment with equine assisted therapy.
