Overview

This job is for an Emergency Preparedness Resilience and Response (EPRR) System Specialist Administrator within the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System. The post is based in the System Co-ordination Centre (SCC). Work is Mon-Fri (08:00-18:00) on a roster, with occasional weekends and Bank Holidays during high demand. The role supports incident and emergency response and collaboration with healthcare providers and multi-agency partners across Essex and the region. Secondment to 13 March 2026. Role purpose and responsibilities

The EPPR/BC function sits within the Directorate for Strategy and Corporate Services, leading oversight, assurance, and statutory duties for the system control centre and emergency preparedness resilience and response (7 days a week as required). The post ensures EPRR and Business Continuity operational requirements are established and reside with the SCC function and ICB audit, reflecting national guidance.

Key duties include:

  • Support the ICB to meet UEC, SCC and EPRR operational requirements and manage operational pressures and incidents
  • Support oversight and assurance through collating national/regional requests
  • Coordinate the system's on-call arrangements and ICB on-call rosters
  • Act as a point of contact for system partners, other ICBs and NHS Region via inboxes and phone line
  • Support the organisation and wider NHS response to incidents and emergencies (e.g., industrial action, extreme weather, cyber attacks, terrorism)
  • Support information management and record keeping across UEC, SCC and EPRR

You may be required to support the SCC on a 7-day roster and assist with day-to-day management of operational pressures and incident response.

You must have extensive knowledge and experience in an administration/secretarial environment, including arranging meetings, preparing agendas, and transcribing minutes. Ability to work in a team or independently and flexibility to meet service needs is essential.
