  • Shape and lead user‑centred design teams to ensure delivery of contracted deliverables while adhering to relevant standards e.g. GDS & NHS Service Standards.
  • Advocate for needs‑based design, design thinking and service design, and coach others in design research.
  • Manage, coach and develop a small number of staff, focusing on performance management and career development.

You will be part of our growing Experience Design capability, creating exemplary digital services. We are supportive, collaborative, talented, and hugely passionate about user‑centred design. We are not about marketing and dark patterns; we are all about making a positive, measurable impact on millions of people through quality products and services.

  • Oversee and run programmes of research across multiple teams and projects.
  • Experience defining and being responsible for research processes and strategy within an organisation.
  • Expert facilitator, designing and delivering workshops across a project lifecycle.
  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels, driving action and impact based on user insight.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent commercial awareness.
  • Broad understanding of user‑centred design principles and practices with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively with other disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing, coaching and developing senior staff.
  • Regularly share experiences, learnings and impact of work contributing to the wider user research community.
