Job summary

Qualifications

  • Degree in a scientific, computing or health related subject.
  • Masters qualification or equivalent experience in a data-related field.
  • Substantial post-graduate experience of relevant scientific work.
  • Experience of working with large and complex databases.
  • Understanding of current scientific and/or epidemiological advances.

Responsibilities

  • Develop mathematical and epidemiological models simulating infectious disease spread.
  • Maintain existing surveillance systems and establish new ones.
  • Communicate analytical and epidemiological results to a wide audience.
  • Liaise with health professionals for accurate information collection.
  • Participate in field investigations for outbreak management.

Skills

Advanced data science and statistical methods
Effective oral and written communication skills
Advanced skills in statistical and database software (Stata, MS Access, R)
Ability to speak Welsh or willingness to learn

Education

Degree in a scientific, computing or health related subject
Masters qualification or equivalent experience in a data-related field
