A local government authority in the UK is seeking a candidate for an Environmental Enforcement role. As part of a dedicated team, you will investigate environmental offences such as fly-tipping and unlawful mooring, ensuring effective enforcement actions. Candidates should have experience in environmental enforcement, excellent ICT skills, a full driving license, and the ability to work independently. The position offers a generous annual leave entitlement, hybrid working arrangements, and professional development opportunities.
As a member of our Environmental Enforcement team, you will be part of a small team that delivers a range of environmental enforcement functions across Kingston and Sutton. The role includes investigating complaints about fly‑tipping and other waste offences, identifying and enforcing abandoned vehicles, tackling unlawful mooring on the River Thames and using a range of measures to resolve complaints for our residents. This is not a uniformed officer role; patrols and on‑the‑spot penalty issuing are not expected. You will keep detailed records, investigate allegations and determine the most appropriate enforcement action to secure resolution of issues.
