Overview

We're looking for a dynamic leader to take lead our Environmental Liaison Officers, driving excellence in compliance and shaping the future of our sustainability journey. In this pivotal role, you'll create and deliver strategies that respond to regulator insights, lead transformation programmes that align with our business goals, and inspire your team to achieve outstanding results.

Responsibilities
  • To lead and support a team of Environmental Liaison Officers and provide direction and guidance
  • To support the Head of Environmental Performance in the execution of company goals and act as deputy to the Head of Environmental Performance during periods of absence
  • To support the Environmental Services team with technical matters relating to regulatory inspections
  • To develop, manage and disseminate Environmental Liaison policies, processes and strategies
  • Lead and support the team members and operational managers with technical aspects of regulatory improvement
  • To review existing and identify new processes and embed into associated instructions to deliver continuous improvement.
  • Undertake audits of processes to identify improvement actions
  • Representing the company on external working groups
  • Regulatory reporting line ownership / reviewer
Qualifications
  • Strong & proven leadership ability.
  • Detailed understanding of environmental permitting regulations relevant to water industry operations
  • Strong knowledge of the regulatory and legislative framework for the water industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and corporate systems (e.g. Comply, OMS, JIRA)
  • Demonstrable experience developing strategies, policies and procedural documents.
  • Extensive problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, develop and drive solutions to a wide range of problems whilst knowing when to escalate or seek support from others
  • Excellent proven analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
