Job description

We are looking for dedicated and community-minded Environmental Enforcement Officers to help deliver the Council’s objectives in reducing environmental crime, noise, nuisance and other issues that impact local neighbourhoods.

In this role, you will take responsibility for a range of essential equipment including body-worn digital recording devices, Council vehicles, mobile devices and personal protective equipment. You will carry out inspections and monitoring across the borough’s public spaces and private land, contributing to a cleaner, more attractive street environment. The role involves robust enforcement activity, tackling issues such as commercial waste offences, littering, fly‑tipping, noise complaints, highways and street trading breaches, graffiti, unlawful encampments, abandoned vehicles, dog fouling, and other forms of environmental neglect to drive compliance and positive change.

You will work as part of a mobile team operating on a six-day rota across the borough and will provide out-of-hours responses to noise and environmental nuisance, including late nights and weekends, supporting a service that runs seven nights a week. This will involve investigating potential breaches of noise nuisance, licensing concerns and other forms of anti‑social behaviour that affect local communities.

If you are committed to protecting public spaces, improving neighbourhood environments and delivering meaningful enforcement, we welcome your application to join our dedicated team.

This is a 6 month contract abd will pay £32 per hour Umbrella.
