Environmental Advisor
Location : Wisbech, Cambridgeshire
Salary : £40,000 per annum + excellent benefits
Hours : Full-time, days, 40 hours per week
We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Environmental Advisor to join a leading food manufacturing organisation with a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and sustainability. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about environmental management and continuous improvement to make a real impact within a high-performing site.
You will play a key role in ensuring ongoing compliance with environmental and energy management standards, driving sustainability initiatives, and promoting environmental awareness across the business.
Maintain and develop ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 management systems.
Support external and internal audits, inspections, and certification processes.
Monitor and interpret environmental and energy legislation, advising management on required actions.
Monitor site emissions, effluents, waste streams, and resource use (water, materials, packaging).
Oversee environmental monitoring programmes, including air, noise, wastewater, and soil sampling.
Manage waste contractors, ensuring proper segregation, recycling, and disposal in line with legislation.
Support environmental incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Develop and implement initiatives to reduce environmental impact.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to identify and deliver energy efficiency projects.
Monitor energy consumption and prepare regular performance reports.
Support energy audits and maintain compliance with ISO 50001 requirements.
Promote energy awareness and sustainable practices across the site.
Prepare and submit environmental and energy performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain environmental records, permits, and documentation.
Track and analyse environmental KPIs to support sustainability goals.
Deliver environmental and energy awareness training to employees and contractors.
Promote a strong culture of environmental responsibility across all site operations.
Proven experience in an environmental or sustainability role within manufacturing, engineering, or a related sector.
Salary : £40,000 per annum
Pension : 9% matched contribution (4.5% employee / 4.5% employer)
