Job Overview

Provide high-quality environmental legal services to Southern Water to enable delivery of capital, operational, and infrastructure programmes, especially related to AMP8 and company turnaround projects.

• Provide focused, accurate, effective, and timely legal advice, analysis, and support on environmental and planning issues.
• Communicate advice clearly and effectively to enable understanding at all levels.
• Identify environmental, planning, and regulatory risks for the company and work on solutions to manage these risks.
• Stay updated on legal developments affecting the company.
• Prepare and negotiate legal documents on behalf of the company.

About You

• Qualified lawyer (Solicitor/Barrister/Chartered Legal Executive) with 3+ years post-qualification experience in Environmental and Planning Law.
• Experience working on environmental and planning issues.
• Proactive team player with knowledge of law, court procedures, and legal precedents.
• Ability to communicate complex legal matters clearly.
• Risk management skills related to environmental and planning matters.
• Commercial awareness and business acumen.
