Job summary

A facilities management company is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to oversee engineers across various sites in Greater London. The role includes supervising planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and managing a team to optimize performance. Candidates must possess relevant qualifications, including City & Guilds Level II/III and 18th Edition I.E.E, along with strong knowledge of electrical safety practices. This is a pivotal position for maintaining high standards of engineering service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Qualified to City & Guilds Level II/III or equivalent in Electrical OR Mechanical discipline.
  • Completed 18th Edition I.E.E certification.
  • Good knowledge of Electricity at Work regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring compliance with schedules.
  • Distribute maintenance tasks to engineers and manage sub-contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with site-specific risk assessments and method statements.

Skills

Qualified to City & Guilds Level II/III or equivalent in Electrical OR Mechanical discipline
Good knowledge of Electricity at Work safe working practices
Knowledge of BMS, Generator, Controls, Lighting Systems, etc.

Job description

Location: London & South East, requires travel across multiple sites

Working hours: 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday, a company van will be provided

Role overview

We are about to start working with a prestigious new client to manage multiple locations, mainly across London.

The Engineering Supervisor willlead a team of engineers across multiplesites to optimise performance, ensuring all pre planned maintenance (PPM) tasks are raised on our CAFM.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the planned maintenance and reactive maintenance (unplanned) ensuring compliance with the planned maintenance schedules on CAFM
  • Distribute planned and reactive maintenance or unplanned maintenance to on site & Mobile engineers within their business unit and where specialist sub-contractors are required they will liaise and manage these sub-contractors whilst on site to ensure that the work is completed safely and on time
  • Bring to the attention of the contract managers any issues with completing Statutory Planned Maintenance within the timescales provided and where the SLA times for unplanned maintenance cannot be achieved. Where Statutory Planned Maintenance cannot be completed, they are to ensure that the equipment is isolated and taken out of service
  • Ensure that engineer’s complete CAFM / instruction sets ensuring that each line entry on the instruction set is annotated that the step is completed with a photograph when the planned maintenance was completed
  • They will ensure that any specialist sub-contractor service sheets from Planned or unplanned maintenance are uploaded to CAFM and viewable to Contract Manager and Consultants, advising and discussing any remedial works from planned maintenance with the contract manager and provide timescales for when works will be completed
  • Responsible for ensuring that site specific risk assessments and method statements are on site and are reviewed at a minimum frequency of six monthly
  • Responsible for obtaining sub contractor’s risk assessments and method statements and ensuring these are submitted by admins to H&S to inspect and approve. Where these are not up to standard they must be returned for re‑writing
Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified to City & Guilds Level II/III or equivalent in Electrical OR Mechanicaldiscipline
  • Completed 18th Edition I.E.E
  • Previous Building Services/M&E trade skills/qualifications a must
  • Good knowledge and clear understanding of Electricity at Work safe working practises and Memorandum of Guidance on the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
  • Knowledge of and in BMS / Generator / Controls / Lighting Systems / Plumping / Sanitary Wear / Drainage Systems / Low Pressure Hot Water Systems / Pressurisation Systems / Ventilation Systems / ACOPS L8 and Cooling Tower Systems
Desirable
  • Knowledge and experience combined with valid Certificate on High Voltage systems (desirable)
  • Completed unvented hot water systems training (desirable)
  • IOSH Working Safely (desirable)
  • PASMA and IPAF 1b/3a/3b (desirable)
