Qualifications

  • Foundation Degree or HND/FdSc in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or related discipline), or proven practical/teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching technical subjects in adult education.
  • Familiarity with Defence Systems Approach to Training (or equivalent).

Location: Portsmouth
Contract: Full-time, term-time only (45 weeks per year)
Security Clearance: Must be eligible for UK SC level clearance

We're looking for an experienced engineering specialist to deliver high-quality training to the next generation of engineers. No prior teaching experience is required - just your technical expertise and passion for mentoring.

What you'll do
  • Deliver classroom and practical training in electrical/electronic engineering and machine principles to groups of up to 24 learners.
  • Conduct lab sessions, demonstrate key concepts, and supervise experiments.
  • Assess and mark trainee work to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate with training design teams to maintain and update course materials.
What we're looking for
  • Foundation Degree or HND/FdSc in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or related discipline), or proven practical/teaching experience in these fields.
  • Experience teaching technical subjects in adult education.
  • Level 4 teaching qualification.
  • Familiarity with Defence Systems Approach to Training (or equivalent).

This is a term-time role (45 weeks per year) with non-working weeks during Christmas, Easter, and August. Salary is pro-rata and includes annual leave and bank holidays.
