Engineering Contracts Manager London Bridge (Hybrid) Up to GBP58,000 Permanent

The Opportunity:

Ford & Stanley Recruitment is working with a major UK train operating company to appoint an Engineering Contracts Manager. This key role within the Fleet Commercial function involves managing high-value Rolling Stock leasing, maintenance, and modification contracts. The successful candidate will contribute to shaping the commercial strategy and ensuring the delivery of safe, reliable train services through expert contract management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead negotiations and prepare Rolling Stock leases, maintenance, and modification contracts.
2. Manage relationships with leasing companies and engineering suppliers, ensuring contract compliance and performance.
3. Provide commercial and contractual support to Engineering and Project Managers.
4. Identify risks and opportunities within contracts to maximise profitability and mitigate risks.
5. Collaborate with Finance teams to support budgeting and business planning.
6. Advise Engineering Managers on warranty and performance regimes.
7. Support other directorates with trading agreements and crew-related contracts.

The Candidate:

You will be an experienced contract management professional with a background in engineering or a similar technical environment. While direct experience with Rolling Stock is beneficial, it is not essential. Candidates from sectors such as transport, infrastructure, manufacturing, or utilities are encouraged to apply. Strong negotiation skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships are essential for success in this role.
