PCV/HGV Engineer/Technician

Based at our Porth Depot, Rhondda Cynon Taff, CF39 0LN

Guaranteed 40 hours per week, with some overtime also available

Holidays: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Looking for a hands-on engineering role where your skills keep your community moving?

We’re on the lookout for a skilled and proactive “Engineer/Technician” to join our team at Stagecoach Porth. Whether you’re an experienced PCV Engineer or have a background in HGV, LGV, automotive or plant maintenance, you could be just who we’re looking for.

As part of a dedicated team, you’ll help maintain a modern and varied fleet to the highest safety and performance standards, supporting customers to get where they need to be, from healthcare and work to shopping and leisure.

What you’ll be doing
  • Carrying out inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on our fleet in line with Stagecoach UK Bus and DVSA standards
  • Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults using modern diagnostic tools
  • Responding to vehicle issues both in the depot and out on the road
  • Supporting a safe, efficient, and inclusive working environment
  • Helping to train and support apprentices and junior team members
What we’re looking for
  • A strong engineering background with a focus on vehicles, PSV, HGV, truck, haulage, plant, rail, automotive, or agricultural
  • An NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant field is highly desirable
  • A proactive approach to safety, teamwork, and delivering high standards
  • Flexibility, the current 5 week shift pattern includes working two Saturdays and one week of afternoons
  • A ‘can do’ attitude
