Do you have experience organising and running activities in a care environment? Do you enjoy ensuring everyone can enjoy enriching activities, regardless of ability or age? If so, the role of Care Home Engagement Lead could be for you! We are currently seeking an Engagement Lead to create personalised lifestyle programmes and frameworks which stimulate meaningful engagement, positively impacting wellbeing at our St Joseph's Care Home in Tring. The role will be on a part-time basis and involves co‑ordinating weekly plans and identifying the individual requirements of residents which include all aspects of the "B&M Care Engagement and Activities Framework".

Responsibilities
  • To identify the needs, preferences and aspirations of individual residents through the use of resident profiles, life history, Care Plans, observation, face‑to‑face conversations with a person‑centred ethos.
  • To work flexibly in order to meet the needs of residents and service delivery across the home.
  • To plan for and co‑ordinate a weekly programme for the home, in conjunction with the care and other staff, including weekends and evenings; ensuring that plans and equipment are also in place for staff to follow when you are not in the home.
  • To include all aspects of the "B&M Care Engagement and Activities Framework" when planning programmes.
  • To identify the requirements of individuals who may be/feel isolated and plan specific, person‑centred programmes for them.
  • To display and distribute weekly programmes and notices – this will include using information technology equipment for producing schedules and posters.

As a Care Home Engagement Lead at St Joseph's, you can expect to plan and facilitate regular activities for the residents of St Joseph's. This may include running arts and crafts sessions, arranging for visitors to perform or run exercise classes, as well as arranging and leading regular excursions in the local area.

Working as an Engagement Lead can be physically and emotionally challenging at times, but your role will offer you a unique opportunity to build positive relationships with the residents you support, as well as with staff who are always there to support one another. Hybrid (typically 2 days per week in Watford) – Job Title: Care Home Engagement Lead – Location: Tring - St Josephs Care & Wellbeing – Contract Type: Permanent – Hours: 20 Hours – 5 per day (alt weekends)

Qualifications
  • Effective communication skills, both written & verbal.
  • Ability to motivate & encourage activities within the home suitable for all residents, including experience designing and delivering dementia‑friendly activities.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to be flexible within role.
  • Ability to manage own time effectively.
Desirable
  • Hold a full, clean UK Drivers Licence.
  • Prior experience as a care home Engagement Lead or in event planning.
  • Experience planning and delivering enriching activities suitable for care home residents of all abilities.
  • Understanding the importance of and knowledge of how to deliver a person‑centred approach to care.
  • Desire to develop within the role.
  • Understanding of service user confidentiality and dedication to upholding confidentiality at all times.
